Re: Choose a new moderator?
Thu, October 25, 2007 - 8:42 AMI'm sure I could actually. lol But I'm not actually interested. I'm no expert but am interested in the subject and I think Sweeps unsubscribing is a huge loss for Tribe. I was told he didnt feel he was getting the level of productive response he had hoped for on Tribe. I do know that at least a few people from tribe are now on his personal website. I joined that too but I can't find it in my faves and I think there is a problem with my faves as I cant save anything there anymore. So I'm not the most computer savy person.
I saw there was no moderator and then I remembered that Sweeps had unsubscribed. I think he should have designated a new mod before he left but whatever. So to get a new mod, per tribe rules, a thread must be started titled "Choose a new moderator". That's what I did because I think this group should have a moderator. A leader of sorts. And honestly I don't even have an opinion of who might be best. Perhaps if we go through old threads and posts and see who has been most active or demonstrated a high level of intelligent thought and input on the subjects?
I was thinking maybe someone would volunteer. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. -

Re: Choose a new moderator?
Thu, October 25, 2007 - 9:18 AMthere are so many "sustainable " tribes - - -
Maybe this should be abandoned and recommend a more active tribe that supports this subject?
or
maybe it'll take a while to get a real creative interaction going here - - - -

Re: Choose a new moderator?
Thu, October 25, 2007 - 2:05 PMI was looking at the old threads earlier actually and it hasnt really been all that active. I know there are other tribes with same subject. I only joined this one because Sweeps invited me and I really liked him alot. Without him I don't really want to stay anymore unless someone actually spoke up and said they wanted to be moderator and got the ball rolling. Since this hasnt happened I doubt it will. No offense to anyone here but I'm out. If it gets active maybe someone can send me an invite at some point.

Re: Choose a new moderator?
Mon, November 24, 2008 - 4:38 AMoh!- pitty.- I just found this tribe, and liked the theme because the "other" permaculture/Sustainabe tribes can get a bit heated, because there are set answers by different philosophies/schools, and I was looking forward to the "brainstorming" idea..rather than everyone just defending their solution.. ah well. -

Re: Choose a new moderator?
Sun, November 30, 2008 - 2:26 AMso, ok. I see there are just not enough active members in tribe.net to sustain a tribe like this. I'll unsign from here, - but give me a private message if there is a reason why I should join up again,- I do like the topic.

Re: Choose a new moderator?
Sun, February 8, 2009 - 6:05 PMHmmm . . .
A lot of people here seem to want to put up the closed sign on this tribe. I am wondering if some sort of a compromise solution might be possible. I just started a tribe on surviving the next "Great Depression." (In America that is.) I think that the topics of discussion that will come up will be of interest to anyone, anywhere, who wants to live a simpler, more "honest" way of life--you know, sustainable living, right?!
Anyway, I wanted to invite any and all here to do still want to take part in discussions, and share views, about sustainable and self-sufficient living. The tribe is here in the "Cultures and Comminuty" section, under the name of "Surviving the Great Depression. I'll senf a link in a minute. -

Re: Choose a new moderator?
Sun, February 8, 2009 - 6:32 PMWell, so much for my techie abilities! I can't find a link at the tribe to send. The best I can do is to suggest that you go to my home page and click on "Surviving the Great Depression" on my tribe list. Sorry!
